Terms of Service
Last updated 28 July 2026
The basics
Plateworks is provided by Plateworks Limited, a New Zealand company. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you are signing up for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
Your account
- You need to give accurate details and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Trials and subscriptions
New accounts get a free trial with usage limits shown in the app. After the trial you need a paid subscription to keep using Plateworks.
- Plans are billed monthly or annually in New Zealand dollars, plus GST.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days notice by email. Price changes take effect at your next renewal.
Your content
Your recipes, dishes, invoices and supplier pricing remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display that content solely so we can provide the service to you, including sending uploaded documents to our AI provider for extraction.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it does not breach anyone else's rights or any confidentiality obligations you have with your suppliers.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use Plateworks for anything unlawful.
- Try to break, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Resell or share your account with people outside your business.
- Upload malware or content you have no right to.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.
Accuracy of costs and AI extraction
Plateworks uses AI to read supplier invoices and documents. It is accurate most of the time, but not always. Costs, margins and prices shown in Plateworks are a guide, not professional financial advice. You are responsible for checking figures before you use them to set menu prices or make business decisions.
Availability
We aim to keep Plateworks running reliably but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally take the service down for maintenance or updates, and we may change or remove features over time.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Plateworks is provided as is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those apply. If you use Plateworks for business purposes, you agree the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
Ending your account
You can stop using Plateworks and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or do not pay. You can export your recipes before you leave, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions go to steve@plateworks.co.nz.
